Cape Cod National Seashore

In my first week of work for the National Park Service one of the projects I worked on was to create an updated map of the park’s boundary. The coastal landforms in the Nauset-Monomoy Barrier System have changed so significantly in recent years that the boundary needs to be updated accordingly. Using the most recent aerial images we had, I constructed a map depicting the new boundary, redrawing the contours of the shoals and barrier beach. While this map sufficed for the Summer of ’09, it is likely that it will have to be recreated in the near future with minor adjustments to reflect the current boundary of the park’s jurisdiction in this area.
